The Water Is Wide -- Grace

My band, The Restoration String Band, is doing a song.  I LOVE IT!! I wanted to share it with you tonight.  There are three original verses, one that our lead singer added, and one I added just tonight.

This is now my favorite song....

The water is wide
I cannot cross o'er,
And neither have
I wings to fly.
Build me a boat,
That can carry two,
And both shall row,
My love and I.

Now love is gentle,
And love is kind.
Love envies not,
And will prevail.
Love suffers long,
And counts not wrongs.
Love holds out hope,
Love never fails.

There is a ship,
She sails the sea,
She's loaded deep,
As deep can be.
But not so deep
As the love I'm in,
I know not how
I sink or swim.

Amazing grace,
How sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch,
A wretch like me.
I once was lost,
But now I'm found,
I once was blind,
But now I see.

The water is wide,
I cannot cross o'er
And neither have
I wings to fly.
Build me a boat,
That can carry two,
And both shall row,
My love and I.
