Hey guys! Promise did a life update so I took it as a hint I needed to do one, too. Lol...
ANYWAYS, life is kind of exciting right now. As of Thursday, May 18th, 2017, should everything go well, I will officially be a high school graduate.
I've finished school for the year and it's weird to think that technically speaking, I'm no longer a homeschooler. I think, though -- and I'm guessing other homeschool graduates agree (right?? right?! tell me you agree...) -- that I will forever refer to myself as a homeschooler. ^_^
It's been interesting seeing the last few days how I'm learning to *adult* even now that I don't have my (totally awesome, BTW) grandmother breathing down my neck, making sure I cross my t's and dot my i's. I've been taking responsibility for a lot more things. It's just interesting...
My parents are being SO awesome and letting me take my lllaaassst summer as a kid. I'm planning on going to my church's reunion for the second week in June, then my last (and first, unfortunately) senior high camp the week after that. In July, I'm going to be able to spend about a week with my "other family"; they live in Nebraska and we definitely don't see each other enough! :)
In between my camps and visiting, I'm planning on spending my days writing, writing, quilting, writing, and quilting. We recently discovered some unfinished quilts my great-grandmother started but never finished. There were ten pieced quilt tops and several scraps. I really want to finish them. There was a beautiful, beautiful stack of embroidered quilt blocks which just need to be sewn together and quilted. They each depict a clump of lavender (one of my favorite flowers) and a purple dragonfly. My great-grandmother had already purchased enough fabric to sash the quilt (that is a way of attaching the squares together) and enough fabric to back it -- we just need the batting, or sandwich filling if you will. ;)
So...yeah. I'm graduated. #classof2017
I'M DONE WITH SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!! In the fall, I plan to get a job and save up money, then go to community college in the fall of 2018 (I should have graduated in 2018, so my gap year technically won't ruin my life...lol).
Okay... I CANNOT STOP LISTENING TO THIS. It's Lexi Walker singing When You Wish Upon a Star. DUDE. THAT VOICE THOUGH.
Innnnn other news, I had a burrito tonight. I love burritos. They remind me of my best friend because we call him by a Mexican name...even though he's not Mexican... ANYWAYS. Burritos are awesome.
Goodnight.
