Hey everyone! I realize that I post a lot of makeup related content, so today I'm breaking it down a bit. I'm going to show you some basic products, how to apply them, and what they do for you.
1. Concealer. It does what it says, it conceals things that you want to cover up. Usually acne, spots, and under eye darkness. Use a brush, sponge, or your fingers to gently pat a thin layer onto your blemishes or dark circles. Concealer comes in a bunch of different formulas so you can find the type that's best for you based on your skin type or desired look. The one I'm using here is a creamy liquid.
2. Foundation. This evens out your skin. It's like a lighter concealer that you apply all over your face. You can use the same application as a concealer. Make sure you find a color that matches your neck and natural skin. If it's too light or dark, it'll look like you're wearing a mask. I like dabbing it on with a sponge.
3. Blush. Blush gives your cheeks some color. Yes, I realize that the foundation and concealer we just put on took all the redness out of the skin, and now we're putting color back on. Basically it's because color only looks good on specific areas and nowhere else. Blush is usually liquid, cream, or powder. Mine is powder. Use a blush brush to dust on a bit to your cheeks. I apply mine a little higher than the apples. The apples are the fleshy parts or your cheeks that are most noticeable when you smile.
4. Eye shadow. Eye shadows enhance your eyes. You can choose a neutral (one that goes with everything and looks good on everyone) Or you can choose colors that make your eyes really pop ( you can check out a post I did on this
here) The easiest way to use eye shadow is to pick a powder and use a small, fluffy brush to do a wash of color over the eyelids.
5. Eyebrow Pencil. These fill in your eyebrows so they frame your face. Trust me, you need eyebrows. Pick a color that's a shade lighter than your hair if your hair is dark, and a shade darker if you're a blond. Use short, feathery strokes to fill in your brows. Brow color can come in pomades, gels, pencils, stains, pens, or powders. I like pencils a lot 'cause they're easy to apply.
6. Eyeliner. Eyeliner makes your lashes look thicker, but you can also get creative and use it to make wings or whatever you feel like. Eyeliner gels, liquid, and pencils are the most common. They come in about every color imaginable. I like to slightly pull my eyelid taut and wiggle the pencil onto the roots. (I look kinda derpy in the first picture...not sure what I was doing...I think the camera surprised me)
7. Mascara. Mascara is used to thicken and darken your eyelashes. They generally come in black or brown, but colored mascaras are becoming popular. In case you're an INFP, and your tears are endless, mascara also comes in waterproof. It won't run and smear if you cry or sweat. Yes. Waterproof mascara. This is a thing. I like to put the mascara wand up at the base of my lashes and wiggle it as I comb it through.

8. Lipstick/ lip gloss. There are sooooo many lip products out in the world today. Stains, lipsticks, lip glosses, balms, tints. All of which can offer differing finishes. Today, I'm focusing on lipstick and lip gloss. Generally, lip glosses are sheer and shiny, they're great for making your lips look fuller. Lipstick is generally more opaque, meaning you can't see through the color, like a lip gloss. Lipsticks are great if you want a bold color or you're looking for a full coverage color. There are sheer lipsticks too. Lipstick can be shiny, matte, metallic, shimmery, you name it. The first swatch on the left is a gloss, the next is a cream lipstick, then a matte, lastly, two metallic lipsticks. Today I'm applying a metallic lipstick with a gloss on top.

9. Powder. Powder keeps your skin from getting oily and sets your makeup. You can pick one that matches your skin, or a translucent, like this one. Use a sponge or a fluffy brush to press or dust it over your forehead, nose, and chin, or where ever you get oily.
10. Setting Spray. You spray it onto your face and it it keeps your makeup in face. This one also helps keep your skin matte.
Okay, that was a lot of pictures and typing. Hope that helped a little, it was fun for me. What do you think? Comment below! See you guys soon.
